Three Raffle Prizes at the Baile Sneak Peek - Description Only - of one generous donation
Galeria La Sirena will donate a gouache painting for the Baile! The painting is by Raymundo Gonzalez and is about 20” x 27” framed. The title is La Conquista Mora de Europa [the “Moorish conquest of Europe”] and provides the artist’s view of how the Europeans felt facing the Moorish conquest with a little of his own hidden whimsy.
La Sirena will also include with it a book about the artist’s work.
Thank you so much to La Sirena. We can't wait to see who will get this lovely work of art. Will it be you?
Spring Family Fun Run 2022
The Southern Arizona Roadrunners hosted another fabulous Family Fun Run this year to benefit the Elders of St Luke's Home. Pancakes hot off the griddle were ready for the hundreds of runners as they crossed that finish line. Kids of all ages played in the green grass with hula hoops, balls, and other colorful toys. Huge Thanks to Monica Bermudez for her masterful organization of the event.
Join us again in 2023 for the next Spring Annual Southern Arizona Family 5K Fun Run!

Goodbye Eden
![]()
St Luke’s Home was the only Eden Registered assisted living in the nation with an ongoing partnership with a Research I University, the University of Arizona.
Although the Eden Alternative has served us well, and will forever be a positive influence in who we are as St Luke’s Home, we have moved beyond the Eden Alternative as the sole evidenced based philosophy. We will continue to provide Compassionate, Elder-Centric, and Holistic quality of life care for Elders here at St Luke’s Home.
Arizona Tax Credit
Don’t forget St Luke’s Home is a qualified 501 (c)3 organization with Qualifying Code 20211. This means you can receive the Arizona Tax Credit by donating to our Elders.
More Information about the Arizona Tax Credit
Your donations make it possible to provide comfort, cuisine, community, and 24/7 care to Elders who cannot afford the costs of for-profit assisted-living.

Rio's Corner The scoop about St Luke’s Home from the dog with a nose for news.
Rio here! It was starting to warm up nicely here in Tucson, but now it’s cold again. This month always seems to bring weather changes. We’re warming up; we’re cooling down; warming up; cooling down. Someone up there better stop playing with the thermostat before it breaks.
We had the SAR fun run last Saturday. My friends here at St Luke’s were up bright and early getting to the event. My pal Sal took refreshments, so he was here super early. It was a bit too early for your buddy Rio, and a bit nippy for my paws, so I stayed in bed. I took a “dog” nap--which is exactly like a cat nap, but with melodic snoring. I was at the event in spirit though, running right beside you all in my dreams, absolutely. You betcha. Thank you to the Southern Arizona Roadrunners for helping the Elders of St Luke’s Home with this event. You warm the heart of this old hound like rays of sunshine coming in the front window.
I love the warm days and cool nights of Springtime myself. That weather just makes for a good night’s sleep. Speaking of a good night’s sleep, I find there are few things which interfere with my sleep. One is if I have lapped up too much water before bedtime, another is watching scary movies (rut roh), and the third, is when something is bothering me. My friends, I have been up too many nights and it's not due to water or movies. I have something weighing on my mind. I worry that I may have unintentionally mislead you, my faithful readers. So, I have a confession to make:
I, Rio, loyal canine-best-friend to just about everybody, cannot read by myself.
I need someone to turn the pages.
There, I’ve said it. I hope you aren’t disappointed in me. You see, I just can’t seem to turn the pages without ripping them to shreds with my paws. I’ve tried. Believe me, I’ve tried. I’ve put on those rubber fingertips on a single paw digit… but no, it falls off every time. I’ve tried licking one page at a time. Nope, doesn’t work. I end up with soggy, stuck together pages which taste awful! And that’s saying something because I am a dog, and we will eat just about anything.
Still, I am not deterred. I will be at the Tucson Festival of Books this weekend, weather permitting, picking out a new book or two. I will take along a friend to turn the pages. She’s a real page-turner. (Hey! No groaning from the peanut gallery!)
Gosh, I am so glad to have that worry off my furry little chest. I feel better already. Time for a dog nap. Afterwards, I may enlist you to help me read a good book.
Your friend,
